Propylea quattuordecimpunctata

Fourteen-spot Ladybird - This ladybird is common throughout Ireland. One of the commonest. The background coloration ranges from cream through yellow to light orange, but not red. They feed on aphids which makes them popular with gardeners! I photographed this one on the banks of the river Boyle in Co. Roscommon.
