Mauremys leprosa
Spanish Pond Turtle - or Mediterranean Pond Turtle. A long living freshwater turtle. They feed on plants and any animal matter. They can live up to one hundred years old! I was gifted to see these at Lagoa dos Salgados (Pera Marsh) in the Algarve Portugal where there were about twenty of them swimming around together. I saw others at Vilamoura reed beds also in Portugal.
