Lacewing - of the 14 species of lacewing, the common green as shown here is almost certainly the commonest. They are a very delicate flying insect that prey on smaller insects such as aphids. Quite attractive with their translucent green wings. Widespread throughout the UK and Ireland. Photographed in Co. Leitrim.
