Trichoptera

Caddisfly - There are over 12,000 species of caddisfly so I do not intend to list them all here! This is a typical caddisfly found in my garden. It may have come from the pond where it pupates by covering itself in a protective case of gravel and twigs bound together with silk until it is ready to emerge to the air. Caddisfly fossils have been found from the Triassic times so they have been around for a while!
