Rattus norvegicus

Brown Rat - Not everyone's favourite but wildlife all the same. When out and about bird watching in Cabanas De Tavira salt pans in Portugal, I heard such a commotion in a nearby tree. As I turned this Brown Rat was scurrying up a tree obviously on the hunt for birds eggs of which is part of their diet. I didn't see it raid any nest so hopefully all was well!
