Rhagium bifasciatum
Two-banded Longhorn Beetle - This longhorn variety is recognised by the two bands across it's back. The stripes are not consistent, various different patterns have been observed. Lays it's eggs in rotting wood. They pupate after two years. The adults feed on conifer. This one photographed in my garden. Greaghnafarna Co. Leitrim.
