Libellula depressa

Broad-bodied Chaser - A very fast flying dragonfly, so called because of the broad flattened abdomen. Flies from April until September but more common in the summer months. The male has a blue abdomen. This one was darting around the water at Carsington in Derbyshire. Often coming back to the same spot time after time.
